The Bachelor: curricula in English

General Information

Teaching and evaluation methods

Teaching methods and evaluation Methods at Novancia can be different than the ones you are used to in your home university.

At Novancia, courses are usually divided in blocks of 3 hours and the course length is either 15 hours (5 blocks of 3 hours) or 30 hours (10 blocks of 3 hours).

Courses require an active participation of students and a lot of work is done in groups. Students will have to do assignments and hand in written reports or do oral presentations in class. Role plays, negotiation games can also be part of the course.

Novancia uses the European ECTS system, 1 ECTS corresponds to around 25 and 30 hours of work (class attendance and personal work).

For every course there will be an assessment within the course program, no separate examination period is planned. Assessment can be based on the work during class as well (assignments, oral presentations, reports, class participation) but a final exam is usually part of the course.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism – intentionally representing the words, ideas, or sequence of ideas of another as one’s own in any academic exercise; failure to attribute any of the following: quotations, paraphrases, or borrowed information.
To avoid plagiarism, you must give credit whenever you use

  • another person’s idea, opinion, or theory
  • any facts, statistics, graphs, drawings – any pieces of information – that are not common knowledge
  • quotations of another person’s actual spoken or written words
  • or paraphrase of another person’s spoken or written words
